Connecting Your Google Account
Link your Google account for YouTube verification
Swisserways uses Google OAuth to verify YouTube subscriptions. You can connect your Google account in your account settings.
What We Access
- Basic Profile - Your name and email for account identification
- YouTube Subscriptions (Read-Only) - Only to verify you're subscribed to specific channels
Privacy First
We never post comments, like videos, or modify your YouTube account in any way. We only check if you're subscribed to specific channels when you complete a task.
How to Connect
Link your Google account in a few steps

Go to Settings
Navigate to your Dashboard and click on Settings.

Connect Google
Click the "Connect" button next to Google in the Connected Accounts section.

Authorize
You'll be redirected to Google to authorize the connection. Review the permissions and click "Allow". Make sure to allow YouTube access.

Done!
Your Google account is now linked. You can complete YouTube subscribe tasks in giveaways.
Use Your Main YouTube Account
Make sure you're logged into the Google account that has your YouTube subscriptions. If you have multiple Google accounts, select the right one during authorization.
Automatic Subscription Verification
How we verify YouTube subscriptions
YouTube verification works through your Google OAuth token, similar to Twitch. Here's how it works:

Subscribe to the Channel
Click the YouTube task to open the channel page and subscribe.

Click Complete
Return to Swisserways and click the "Complete" button on the task.

Instant Check
Our system uses your OAuth token to check if you're subscribed to the channel via YouTube's API. Verification is instant.

Entries Awarded
If you're subscribed, your entries are immediately added to your total.
Must Be Subscribed
You must actually subscribe to the channel before clicking Complete. The system checks in real-time and will reject the task if you're not subscribed.
Subscription Timing
When subscriptions are verified
YouTube subscriptions are verified at the moment you complete the task. Unlike some other platforms, we verify once when you click "Complete".
Best Practices
- Subscribe first - Subscribe to the channel before clicking Complete
- Wait a few seconds after subscribing for YouTube to process it
- Stay subscribed until the giveaway ends
- Make sure you're using the correct Google account
Subscription Not Found?
If the system says you're not subscribed but you are, wait 10-15 seconds and try again. YouTube sometimes has a short delay in updating subscription status.

How we handle your Google data
Your Google connection uses OAuth 2.0, the industry standard for secure authorization.
What We Store
- OAuth Tokens - Encrypted and used only for subscription verification
- Google User ID - To identify your account
- Email - For account identification
What We Don't Do
- We never access your Gmail or other Google services
- We never post comments or like videos
- We never subscribe/unsubscribe to channels on your behalf
- We never access your watch history or recommendations
- We never share your data with third parties
Token Refresh
OAuth tokens expire periodically. Our system automatically refreshes them when needed so you don't have to reconnect your account.
